Slap game. We flip cards and say taco, cat, goat, cheese, pizza in order. When the card matches the word, everybody slaps the pile. Last hand takes the cards. About 10 to 15 minutes, 2 to 8 people. Loud, fast, kids will ask for another hand. Skip it if you don't want hands flying.
Math race. Nine number cards on the table. Find an equation, shout the answer, then show your work. Keep those cards. About 15 minutes, 2 to 6 people. We keep the operations simple so nobody gets crushed. Good if you like numbers. Skip it if you're done thinking for the night.
Speed words. Everybody builds their own little crossword from tiles in the banana bag. About 15 minutes, works with 2 or a whole table. If spelling levels are uneven we slow it down instead of racing. Easy to throw on the table. Skip a raw race if one person is going to steamroll.
